Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Paperwing ("Paperwing", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using paperwing.org, you agree to them. If you use Paperwing for a company, you agree on behalf of that company and confirm you have the authority to do so.

1. The service

Paperwing is software that helps drone operators check their readiness for the FAA's Part 108 rules for flights beyond visual line of sight, draft application and compliance documents, and track crew duty, training and reporting deadlines (the "Service").

2. Not legal or regulatory advice

The Service gives general information and draft documents. It is not legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. Part 108 is a proposed rule and its final text may differ. The FAA alone decides whether to approve an application. We do not guarantee that the FAA will accept any application, document or result.

3. Drafts written with AI

Documents are drafted by an AI model from the details you enter. Drafts can contain mistakes or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing every draft, completing every item marked for confirmation, and checking everything against the current FAA rules before you rely on it or submit it.

4. Population category estimates

Route check results are screening estimates built from public town and built-up-area data. They are not the official population density categories, which the FAA assigns from LandScan USA data. Confirm your category before you apply.

5. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. Give accurate information, keep your password secure and do not share your login. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at support@paperwing.org if you think someone else has accessed it.

6. Your content

You own the information you enter and the documents produced for you. You give us permission to store and process that content only to provide, secure and support the Service, including sending it to our AI provider to draft documents. If you enter information about other people, such as crew members, you confirm you are allowed to share it for this purpose.

7. Plans, payments and refunds

• Free: the readiness check, route check, crew and deadline tracking, and 2 document drafts.
• Application package: a one-time payment that includes 12 months of Pro access with up to 60 drafts a month.
• Compliance: a monthly subscription with up to 60 drafts a month. It renews each month until you cancel. Cancel any time from the billing portal; you keep access until the end of the month you paid for. We do not refund partial months.
• Refunds for the application package: email support@paperwing.org within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, provided fewer than 3 documents have been drafted on your account since the purchase.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in US dollars and may not include taxes. We may change prices for future renewals; we will tell you at least 30 days before a change affects you.

8. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service. That includes trying to access other people's accounts or data, interfering with or overloading the Service, reverse engineering it, reselling it without our permission, using automated means to extract content, or using it to break the law or FAA regulations.

9. Changes to the Service

We will update the Service as the FAA finalizes Part 108 and as we improve it. We may add, change or remove features. We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error free.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, or for decisions you make based on the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Paperwing against claims, losses and costs arising from your use of the Service, the content you submit, or your breach of these terms.

13. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the Service or other users at risk. Sections 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12 and 15 continue to apply after your account ends.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the Service before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Arizona, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
